Meet The Crew
The House on Garling Documentary Crew
This film was created by five Illinois State University students for a documentary class. Each member comes from a different major, offering unique skills to produce this documentary.

Director & Editor
Aaron Wolf
Aaron Wolf is currently studying Mass Media Arts in the school of communication at ISU. Aaron is experienced in many realms of video production with a particular interest in editing and storytelling. He has a passion for creating dynamic, visual, and meaningful stories that connect with emotions and appeal to our human nature. Aaron has received several awards for directing and video production, including a Crystal Pillar Award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, Chicago/Midwest Emmy Foundation.

Writer & Producer
Austin Feaman
Austin is a Journalism Major at ISU. Austin specializes in television news writing and has print writing experience. He also has experience with cameras and film festivals, working at the Foxtail Film Festival in 2024. Austin works for the television news station TV-10, where he creates stories and produces a show. He is working towards his bachelor's degree. Austin hopes to one day to write screenplays and tell stories around the world that will ignite change in people everywhere.

Director & Cinematographer
Jac Vonachen
Jac is a student at Illinois State University, studying Mass Media, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spring. He is working towards his master's degree in hopes of one day teaching the next generation of filmmakers and photographers. He has worked as a photographer, reporter, and director for ISU’s student television station, TV-10 news. He has won a state award in Outstanding Television Photography and was given the title of Production M.V.P for his work at TV-10.

Sound Design & Production Assistant
J.D. Lopatowski
J.D. is a Film & Digital Media Major at ISU, and he will be graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in December. He has worked on a multitude of short films, such as “Portraits of the Mundane” and “Role Model”, the latter of which is also a documentary short. Both films will be screened at the Lake County Film Festival in November of 2024.

Marketing & Producer
Marz'ja Ray
Marz'Ja is a mass media major. Her passion is making dreams that someone did not know was possible into reality. She loves the science and community of marketing, research and displaying that with fun visuals. She specializes in commercials with motion graphics and creative editing. In addition, she has a start-up business, where she won 1st place in the 2024 Tomorrow's Entrepreneur Institute competition by Illinois State University.
